Together (2025) – English Review

A couple moves to a new place, but after falling into a cave, their lives will never be the same again, because they are going to be stuck together for the rest of their lives.

Together is a horror movie that has some cool scenes where the couple are like two magnets, and they are trying to stop what’s happening to them. This is a couple that doesn’t have a bright future ahead of them. The boyfriend is irritating, and he is a downer. What the woman sees in him is something I don’t understand, nor do her friends. He is a broken piece of shit.

So they move to a new place to try to mend their relationship, and the woman starts working at a school while her boyfriend does nothing. He has mental problems after what happened to his parents, and when he and his girlfriend are out in the woods and fall into a cave with a strange bell, their nightmare begins after he drinks some of the water in the cave. If they touch each other, they get glued together and start becoming one as their bodies melt into a single piece.

So, of course, they must try to break this sort of curse, but that will be hard. The scenes with these two when they are trying to stay away from each other are, of course, the movie’s highlights. Some of these scenes are funny, and the movie has a lot of black humor in it. Especially that one scene when they are having sex and they get stuck together—it’s so stupid and painful to watch. Holy sausage!

The main problem with this movie is that I couldn’t care less about the couple, especially the boyfriend, who is such a downer that I just wanted him to die. He is so freaking irritating, and he ruined a lot of the movie experience for me. He has no future waiting for him. He’s a lazy, broken bum who needs to be put down.

Together is more of a body horror movie than a straight horror movie with jump scares. The most intense scenes are the ones with the boyfriend’s parents early in the movie. Those scenes are creepy, especially when he is lying in his bed and sees his parents on the other side.

But after that, Together turns into a David Cronenberg movie, just with a lot of black humor, when the couple turns into two magnets trying not to get stuck together like one magnet. So it’s a movie that has a lot of entertaining scenes, but the boyfriend character is insufferable to follow. I hated him so much.
