A group of assassins becomes the target after some bad guys kill their boss, but why does someone want them dead? The daughter of the deceased boss is out for revenge, and she is getting closer to catching the man she thinks is responsible for her father’s death. However, he is one of the nice assassins who has retired with the rest of the group he was a member of.
The Big 4 is directed by Timo Tjahjanto, and you can tell when watching this movie. It is an action-comedy with a weak story that reminded me of The Big Hit with Mark Wahlberg, a stupid but fun action-comedy. Since Timo Tjahjanto loves violence, he doesn’t hold back in The Big 4. It is one of the most violent action comedies I have seen in years, so you know you are in good hands with this crazy director.
The story is weak, but the characters and their interactions do most of the work. However, the humor and dialogue can be a little hard to swallow. The humor misses the mark more than it hits the bull’s eye.
