A couple from Japan is in Hong Kong to buy some weapons, but not everything goes according to plan, and they must deal with the Hong Kong police and the man they are supposed to buy the weapons from.
“Rock on Fire,” aka “Girl on Fire,” is a Hong Kong action-sleazy movie that offers a lot of erotic scenes and some action scenes since we find Ken Lo and Billy Chow in some of the roles.
The story is weak and pure nonsense. The reason you are watching this movie is to watch sleazy erotic scenes and see how far they push the boundaries. In one scene, we see an old fart who loves women too much having fun with his sparring partner, who is a woman, and she never gets to take off her gloves before she’s in trouble. The old fart is not interested in catching his breath because he’s pumped up and ready to give the woman another workout.
The sickest scene is when the old fart takes out a woman, and she dies standing on her feet, and then it’s time to party hard. That scene is the highlight of the movie, and yes, you are watching movies like “Rock on Fire,” aka “Girl on Fire,” just because of the absurdity and how far they stretch the rubber band, as we say in Norway. If you can’t handle the fun in that, then fish off because you are not cool enough to watch a movie like this one! Go away!
There aren’t many action scenes in the movie. The action highlight is towards the end of the movie, offering a lot of energy and quick cutting, you know, the Hong Kong action style. Does it increase your heart rate? No, since it’s impossible to care about the characters. The good guys lack personality, while the bad guys are just evil and are enjoying the art of making love. And you know as well as I do that the sexiest women out there are bad to the bone, like the crazy, hot woman in this movie. The men don’t need to break a single drop of sweat because this hottie is like a Duracell rabbit. She pumps up the energy in these sleazy scenes, and she has that insane look in her eyes that only a sexy woman can have. Oh yeah!
If you want to watch some hot women, especially the hottie who plays the Japanese character, then this is a movie for you if you want sleazy, sleazy, and some action scenes. But there’s no real story here, and the movie should have had more action scenes.
What’s interesting is that the bad guys get most of the screen time since they love to party all night long. I wish the female cop could have been more sleazy because she isn’t an ugly woman. So that was a downer. She doesn’t get that much screen time, and she’s not showing any skin at all. What a downer! But we have the insanely hot woman, so I’m half satisfied.
