A woman, unlike any other, deeply in love with a gangster, sacrifices herself for his escape from the long arm of the law. He escapes to Holland, while she starts working for a man with the coolest name ever, Playboy Man. Her job involves being a club hostess, and everything seems fine. However, one day, her boyfriend returns to Hong Kong, transformed into a mean man who won’t accept ‘no’ for an answer. He’s a hardcore gangster who won’t hesitate to resort to violence against anyone standing in his way.
“Street Angels” features two of the hottest women from the 90s, Chingmy Yau and Shu Qi, in the same movie. Chingmy Yau plays the protagonist, while Shu Qi plays her friend. And yes, if you want to see Shu Qi do something that will please every real man out there, then this is the movie for you. But her arc takes a nasty turn, so you are going to feel sad at the same time, but you will come out smiling if you like watermelons. So in the end, we, the perverts win!
The story in Street Angels is just nonsense. Do not expect a lot of sexy scenes and stuff like that. This is a love story where Chingmy Yau is torn between two men who want her, well make that three; I am also in the picture, you know! She is a woman who must learn a hard lesson in life, but she is a strong and very hot woman who in the end can take care of herself. And it also helps that she is smoking HOT! Have I said that already? Well, it does not hurt to repeat it either.
The movie offers a lot of silly Hong Kong humor, and the characters do not feel like real humans at all. They are Hong Kong movie characters, and they do not care if you take them seriously or not. They are here to entertain you and make you drool over the two hot women. So this is a movie that is all over the place, mixing different genres, and you will leave a manly stain in your boxer after watching Shu Qi seducing Simon Yam. Sorry, you did not hear me say that!
