Vikingulven aka Viking Wolf, it’s not your typical Twilight knockoff. This movie is all about werewolves, mystery, and a small town that’s not as safe as it seems.
The story revolves around a teenage girl who moves with her mom, sister, and stepfather to a new town. They soon discover that something strange is going on. A werewolf is on the loose, and it’s not just after any prey – it’s after human meat.
The issue with this movie is the lack of character depth and backstory. We know that the family moved to a small and isolated town because of the daughter, but we get little information beyond that. They briefly mention the father they left behind, who is now deceased, but that’s about it. It would have been great if the movie had explored more of the family’s past and motivations.
The movie starts off well when the daughter attends a local party where a girl is attacked and killed by a werewolf. The daughter gets a small injury in the neck area, and her mother, who happens to be a cop, starts investigating. At first, they think it might have been a wolf or bear that killed the girl, but they soon realize that it was, in fact, a werewolf.
While Viking Wolf is not a disaster of a movie, it has some issues. The script is a mess, and the CGI is not the best. It’s disappointing that such bad CGI still exists in this day and age. However, the movie is still entertaining when it’s building up tension and atmosphere.
The turning point in the movie comes when the hunters discover the werewolf. From that moment on, all the mystery is thrown out the window, and the movie focuses too much on the silly action scenes. It would have been great if the movie had maintained its focus on mystery and character development.
The ending is also a letdown. Once again, the script is to blame. The movie wanted to give us a little bit of the small-town feeling mixed with a werewolf mystery and a daughter who is grieving her father’s death. But it just didn’t come together well. The movie could have been so much better if it had focused more on the character’s journey and the mystery instead of going all out with ridiculous action scenes and a terrible ending.
In the last 20 minutes, the movie turns up the heat to 10 with the terrible CGI werewolf. It’s so bad that it doesn’t make any sense. What started out as a decent werewolf mystery movie gets thrown in the garbage.
Viking Wolf is a movie that forgets about character depth and development. It’s a mess of a movie that can’t decide what it wants to be. After 40 minutes, the movie drives off the track and crashes. It should have focused more on the character’s journey and the mystery instead of going all out with ridiculous action scenes and an awful ending.
