After the mother in the household dies, strange things happen in the house, and the family sees a woman in white that looks like their mother. What is going on in this old, worn-down house? And why did I find the woman in white hot? Does someone have her number?
So I have reviewed this movie before, but I usually give movies a second chance if I believe they are worth it. And to be honest, when I watched the movie for the first time, I was on my second LG OLED TV. I was so angry because I had problems with the panel on this TV too. So F LG OLED and their panel lottery from hell! Never but that cheap brand! You get what you pay for! But over to the movie.
So since the LG OLED ruined my experience when watching Satan’s Slaves, I had to watch Satan’s Slaves again. And this time, I loved the movie. That’s why it is important to give certain movies a second chance. Especially, when you watch it on an LG OLED TV!
I love the first 50 minutes of the movie when it builds up the story and atmosphere. That is the best half when the woman in white shows up briefly in short scenes. These scenes have we seen in other movies, but it still works here. Nothing beats a creepy woman who stands in the room with her back turned to you, and you do not know what she looks like. Is she hot? That is the most important question you can ask yourself when watching a movie like this.
Even though I liked the movie, the ending was not as effective because there are too many people on the screen. It ruins some of the fantastic and simple atmosphere created in the first half. And I am not a fan of zombies. I did not feel it was the right direction.
The acting is solid. Even though I do not like kids in movies, the kids in Satan’s Slaves did not annoy me. I guess it is because they are not white. Asian child actors are in another league.
This is not a graphic movie. Since it is directed by Joko Anwar, you expect some graphic scenes. But in this movie, he focuses on the atmosphere, the tension, and the family dynamics. There are two graphic scenes in the movie, and the accident is pretty awesome. When his face meets the pavement is art! Ouch!
I appreciated how the movie ended, and I wanted to see what happened next. I just hope that it doesn’t go completely bonkers in the sequel, which I am going to watch soon. If it does, it will be a completely different movie.
