I mean look at her. It looks like she fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
A young man falls in love with a call-girl and she falls in love with him. After confronting her pimp, they end up stealing a suitcase with a lot of cocaine and they try to sell the cocaine to a movie producer. But the Italian mafia wants the cocaine back, and they walk over corpses to get it back!
True Romance is one of my favorite movies, and it has definitely withstood the test of time. Quentin Tarantino wrote the script. And what a wonderful script he wrote! I have to give Quentin Tarantino a lot of praise for this script!
Check out this cast: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Tom Sizemore, Christopher Walken, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Penn, and James Gandolfini. It’s rare to see such a star-studded cast in a single movie.
Tony Scott has several good movies behind him, but this is his best movie. Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette shine in their roles, they have great chemistry and I have always been a big fan of Christian Slater. It’s a shame he messed up his career.
True Romance never gets boring, and you sit holding your breath until the last scene. We can categorize True Romance as a violent romantic movie, where we witness what some people are willing to do to be with the love of their life.
Everything is so perfect in True Romance. The violence is raw as hell. Especially when James Gandolfini beats Patricia Arquette, is a hard scene to watch. The scene is brutal, and James Gandolfini shines in this role when he plays a ruthless bastard who enjoys his job.
Other actors who really stand out are Gary Oldman and Christopher Walken. Gary Oldman is completely wild, and Christopher Walken is cold and brutal. Just the way we know Christopher Walken at his best. The scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper is probably one of the best scenes of all time. I love the eyes of Christopher Walken in this movie. He looks so scary!
The soundtrack is also top-notch. It’s especially the opening song that sticks with you. It’s apparently taken from another movie called Badlands. A movie I haven’t watched yet, but it’s on my watch list.
True Romance is a star-studded movie that delivers the goods. The movie has wonderful dialogue, good music, and fantastic acting performances. It’s a beautiful love story that’s transformed into an orgy of violence with style. The movie has so many scenes where the energy just spills out of the screen!
What I also like is that the movie gives the actors time to shine. Many actors in the movie only get a few scenes each and they have to give everything, something everyone does here. But no one can top the scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper. These two steal the show, but it’s interesting to see how sharp most actors are here as they know they have to share so much screen time with other quality actors. Then they have to be on top all the time, something you notice well in True Romance.
