An author gets kidnapped by a rich man who’s out to find a treasure, and he’s certain that she can help him without her knowing it herself. But she isn’t alone as her hot model friend is trying to save her, and together they embark on a dangerous adventure where they also start to develop feelings for each other.
The Lost City has to be one of the worst modern adventure movies I have ever watched. The cast list is pretty impressive, with actors like Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, and Channing Tatum. We also find Daniel Radcliffe as the main villain here.
But what about the script? What script? The actors just spew out nonsense. The script must have been 10 pages long, the rest must have been improvised. The dialog is horrendous! The actors are talking gibberish to each other from start to finish. It’s embarrassing to listen to! Who the hell gave this script the green light? Hey actors, it’s the director speaking. Just say some random stuff that’s going on, and take it from there, so we have some dialog!
The Lost City tries to be a modern Romancing the Stone, and yeah, it feels like a modern Hollywood movie that equals Chinese blockbuster movies. Congratulations Hollywood, you are so close to following the Chinese quality in blockbuster movies. And they have always been terrible. So that’s an interesting direction, and I hope the idiots in Hollywood will soon wake up and see what they are doing.
The actors get nothing to work with. Sandra Bullock is too old for this role, and she doesn’t have any chemistry with Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum had a much better partner in the movie Dog (2022) in the movie Dog (2022). And guess what? His partner was a dog! I kid you not!
And for Christ’s sake! Can someone revoke Daniel Radcliffe’s license to act? He has no charisma. He can’t transform into a character besides playing himself. He has no reach. He always plays himself. How can this guy still get roles? He seems like a nice guy, but he’s not an actor!
Brad Pitt plays the only cool character, but he doesn’t get enough screentime. It’s just sad! I’m not going to spoil anything, but maybe Brad Pitt asked the director to do something to keep him away from the screen as much as possible when he discovered he acted in one of the worst adventure movies ever! Going from winning an Oscar to acting in this piece of fish movie! What a downer!
The Lost City doesn’t feel like an adventure movie. It’s an ugly-looking movie, and the characters are terrible. It has no charm.
