This isn’t a movie that will lighten up your mood if you are having a bad day. It’s a heavy movie that has an excellent script, and the storytelling is world-class. It’s fascinating to watch how the story unravels, and the director never loses control. It’s so dark, twisted, and sad. And the story will suck you in. Just give the movie some time to build up the story in the first hour. After that, the fun begins!
In the beginning, it seems like this is a sort of possession movie. But luckily for us, it isn’t. I will not say more than that. The story is excellent! The actors are top-notch, and they fit the roles they play.
The atmosphere is dark. The score is fantastic and emotional, especially towards the end. The Soul is a movie for those of us who want to experience a dark and mature story with some twists that may seem insane. But when the director gathers the threads, you will be rewarded for spending 130 minutes on this movie. If you appreciate great storytelling with a lot of despair and sadness, then this is a movie you should watch.
